Sentients of Orion Series

Marianne de Pierres' epic series, THE SENTIENTS OF ORION, has been called "a grand space opera" (Times Literary Supplement) and "brilliant in all senses of the word" (Sean Williams). All four books were shortlisted for the prestigious Aurealis Award, with the final book winning for Best Novel.

The SENTIENTS OF ORION is the subject of a PhD by Dr Thea Boshoff entitled CRAFTING POSITIONS: representations of intimacy and gender in the Sentients of Orion.

Dr Boshoff is also presenting a paper on The Aliens of Orion at The Messengers from the Stars (Mensageiros das Estrelas) conference in Lisbon in November, 2018. It discusses how the progression of the aliens in the series reflects a progression in the nature of humanity.

In 2019, her paper entitled He Said, She Said: Fake News and #MeToo in Marianne de Pierres’ Sentients of Orion will be published in the Mensageiros das Estrelas Journal.
