Thought it was time to share how things are going with the next book! I’ll be delivering PEACEMAKER book one in December to Angry Robot, and it will be released next year. Will let you know publication date when it’s confirmed.

I’m loving writing in this world. It’s such an eclectic mix of genres and themes. This kind of story really frees my imagination.

It’s also brought me back into focus on the graphic novel second issue which is waiting to be produced. I’m thinking of running a very small Kickstarter to cover the costs of the artwork and then making it available free. What do you say to that?

Here’s a sample of Virgin looking out over the park that Gestalt artist Emily Smith drew for me a while back. I’d love your thoughts on it! I loved it at the time but I was looking for the slightly more realistic look that Brigitte’s art gave the story.

I’m hoping Emily will eventually be free to do some work on the series.

It’s always immensely gratifying to see someone else’s visual interpretation of your characters. I got to experience that many times after I wrote the Parrish Plessis series and you can see some of the amazing “Parrish” fan art on the gallery page.

A little while back, film artist Wayne Haag aka Ankaris did this beautiful cover for the The Hue graphic novel, representing my character Mira Fedor (Sentients of Orion series), pregnant, on a very alien world.

Today, I was delighted to receive another version of Mira by comic artist Danielle Schnell. How fascinating, that despite never having seen Wayne’s cover, Danielle’s version of Mira Fedor resonates with Wayne’s as they both capture her “hunted” look.

Thank you to anyone who has been inspired to draw my characters – what a wonderful gift to me!

Not long now until CRIMESCENE WA!

I’m so excited to attend this convention for a number of reasons. Linda and the Spiral Events crew are great to work with, the invited guests are all people I’m looking forward to meeting, the programme is FASCINATING, some of the attendees are friends, and Twelfth Planet Press are running a whole stream within the convention.

So much goodness, and I get to come and see my family in Perth afterwards!
Go to the CRIMESCENEWA website for a full download of the programme. And over to the Twelfth Planet Press site to see their stream, which includes an opportunity to pitch to the publisher.

If you’re in Perth please spread the word. This is going to be such an interesting and fun weekend!
