I’ve been working on my screenplay, Stalking Daylight, for Enchanter Films. It’s an experience I’m really enjoying, and has made me realise that I really do think in pictures. The form also suits my tendency to write lean. I’m not tempted to bloat things with too many words.

The original idea started out being reminiscent of Pitch Black, a movie I adore. But somewhere along the way, it’s become an individual. It’s like a child growing up and developing its own personality. Too weird!

Pretty soon I’ll be sending it to my co-writer Lynne Jamneck for her to decipher and make better. I now see know why film people are so adamant about their treatments. A good treatment can make writing the screenplay much easier, whereas a book outline … well let’s face it … the finished book is usually nothing like the synopsis.
