About me: www.mariannedepierres.com
Marianne de Pierres is the author of the multi award-nominated Parrish Plessis and Sentients of Orion series. The Parrish Plessis series has been translated into eight languages and adapted into a Role Playing Game.
In her spare time Marianne is collaborating with New Zealand SF writer Lynne Jamneck on an exciting science fiction film project for Sydney-based Enchanter Productions entitled 'Stalking Daylight'.
Praise for Dark Space: "It’s always a joy to find intelligent and exciting space opera; to find it being written by a woman unafraid to bring her own perspective to a traditionally masculine genre, doubly so." Interzone
"Modern SF at its very best. A worthy successor to Arthur C Clarke, and thoroughly believable." - Gateway Monthly
"Where the Parrish Plessis series was compared to Dark Angel and Mad Max, Dark Space is more like Babylon Five but with claws and genitalia....This is space opera supreme: a large cast of colourful multi-race creatures embroiled in an ever deepening mystery, yet engagingly mired in their own ambitions and peccadilloes." Sydney Morning Herald
"Part Dune, part Gateway, part Alien, Marianne’s new series looks like one to continue reading." SFF World
"In Dark Space, Marianne de Pierres has drawn a vast cast of characters, but the skill with which she has done so, providing them with depth and breadth without verbosity, and the fascinating relationships she has created between them, mean the reader can be drawn deeply into the world, surfacing only now and then to take a deep breath, then dive right back in.
Praise for Nylon Angel: Time Out enjoyed its 'action packed' and 'brutal' style.
'A compelling blend of Mad Max and Dark Angel.'Melbourne Age.
The book is.... 'a fevered romp'. Vector.
Parrish is... 'a kick-ass cyberpunk action heroine'. Starburst.
LadsMag say: 'Gang warfare in a world with clear lines of wealth and poverty but less clear lines of what is and what isn't human demands a well-defined, confidently-drawn character to lead us through it ... In Parrish we get that. And like Lara Croft, she's damn sexy, too!'
Jason Nahrung from The Courier Mail writes...'Violently independent, game for a go, as tough as the titianium in her boots, but with a rich vein of compassion for the underdog and oppressed: she's the Aussie action hero...'
Praise for Code Noir: Mysterious Galaxy Bookshop: Parrish Plessis is back and badder than ever in this sequel to the delightful cyberpunk romp Nylon Angel. Marianne begins where she left off and wastes no time getting to the nitty gritty: Parrish is Queen of the Tert… if she's able to fend off her nasty rivals and the even nastier bounty hunters, that is. But that's the least of her worries: It's a race against time as Parrish sets out to discover the virus that's slowly but inexorably taking over her consciousness. Add a dash of mystery (someone has been kidnapping shamans, but for what purpose?), a smidgeon of mysticism (what does voodoo look like in the future?) and a boat load of violence and what do you get? An even better novel than the first one.
Nadine Whitney from Fiend, Australia's dark alternative culture magazine. '..Nylon Angel and Code Noir bring Parrish [Plessis] to blazing, hyper-charged life as she battles her way through a dystopian Australian society where survival is tenuous to say the least. The series is fast paced and cleverly plotted combining elements of hardboiled true grit crime with the best aspects of speculative fiction...
Ros Jackson at Warpcore says... 'as usual the world of Parrish Plessis is complex, frenzied, bloody and improbably dangerous. She walks on a knife edge bewteen life and death, but between the high stakes intrigue and adrenaline hits there is a more subtle message: look what we are doing to each other, and to the world.'
you're not in the situation by accident your faith growth and failures are not a surprise to your creator,as you were chosen to be who you are from beginning,
I thought I would take this opportunity to drop bye, if I have not done so already and welcome you to my website. Also to let you know my new catalogue system is nearly complete, so it will make it easier for everyone visiting the site to find what they are looking for.
As you can image it is a major task, particularly as my site is so busy at the moment, but I hope to complete it within the next week. You will in fact feature in two of the catalogues the first under authors and the second under your country of residence.
