Marianne de Pierres' Journal
Freaking winter
13-Jun-2009The thing I love most about Queenslanders is their talent for moaning about the cold. When the mercury hits 2 degrees and less at night, our summer houses don't cope well. Nor do we. I'm sitting wrapped in a blanket with the heater on and my hands are freezing. I freaking HATE cold weather.
Anyway, on a happier note. I met a nice group of writers in the city last night and we chatted about writing and movies and such stuff. Melanie is their chairperson and they meet once a month at the American Bookstore. If you're looking for a writers group, you could come across a nicer bunch (other than, of course, the Vision writers).
And if you haven't noticed (and you should have!), Andrew McKiernan has made me a Parrish widget which is sitting in the sidebar of my website. Just cut and paste the html and you be a part of the Parrish family. Graham Storrs has already put one up, if you want to have a looksee at how pretty Parrish can make your blog.
My Beaudesert signing is shaping up to be at the end of August. It will be a unique affair and a double promotion with my friend Desiree's new trendy hairdressing salon. Books and shampoo, how could you miss it?
