Defining Moments
06-Nov-2008I love this 'defining moment in world history' tag yesterday's US election has been given. It makes my skin tingle. The fact that so many people are thinking that way about it is quite astounding in itself. I thought 'defining moments' were only recognised posthumously (so to speak!). Maybe there is hope for the humasn race yet.
On more mundane matters, I'm doing a Women in Scfi panel at the Logan Library tonight with Cory Daniells and Kylie Chan. Swing by if you're at a loose end.

The last time the Americans went on and on about a defining moment and an event that made/changed history, was after the 9/11 attacks. Since then we've had world-wide paranoia about terrorism, the invasion of Iraq, Guantanamo Bay, and the start of a major, global recession.
Let's hope it turns out a bit better this time.
